Hutech-enhanced Sony cameras are offered in two filter options:
  • Option T - Astronomical bandpass filter for use with refractive optics focused only for the visible spectrum (typically for amateur astronomers), with red bandpass sensitivity extended to 700nm to fully capture H-alpha. Sony self-cleaning function retained.
  • Option E - Sony filter removed without an installed replacement to achieve the widest possible bandpass and minimal internal reflections for specialty imaging. Sony self-cleaning function not available.

Sony E-mount Replacement

The Sony E-mount may be replaced with a taper mount ring and Canon EF lens adapter. The combination eliminates the possibility of reflections and vignetting by maximizing the entrance aperture for the full frame sensor. A Canon EF adapter also allows the insertion of 48mm or 52mm IDAS filters, making it possible to use IDAS filters even with wide-angle Canon compatible lenses. An additional benefit of the bayonet mount adapter is that it functions as a camera rotator for convenience when used with a telescope.

Nikon F-mount adapters are also an available option.

* Note: Canon EF and Nikon F-mount lenses are fully able to reach focus at infinity, but are limited to manual focus and aperture control.
